King Kong

I just had to put this in here. I was watching tv the other night and I seen the old King Kong movie and I bust out laughing because the animation was so old. It was limited in so many ways compared to what computer graphics can do today. When I watched the new King Kong it seemed like that big gorilla was real. You could read he's facial expressions and the comparison was crazy. The technology that we have today is amazing.

emails

I am a person that does enjoy using email as a communication/conversational tool. Its very convenient to forward important messages and to communicate across the country without the long distance charge. I ask myself if I am able to aduquetly convey meaning through the ever endless emails that i recieve. The answer is 50/50 its not always on my behalf that i don't understand the meaning but the sender the other half of the time. Sometimes people don't proof read what they have just sent you and your reading this message and you interpret it in a way not intended. The one netiquette element that I learned about in the reading was using an automated reply. I think its good to have as a tool because if some one knows that thier emails are not getting through to you then they may try another way to get a hold of you. If i were to add one more to the list in the text book it be try to keep em nice n short .

Epic 2015

I watched the epic video that was part of the response paper and it had me thinking about how powerfull technology has become. When I was a kid I was amazed at super nintendo and as the years went by it just keeps blowing my mind away. I wonder what the next new invention is going to be.By the year 2015 if the words are true in the epic video there would only be digital media and that would knocked out every newspaper company in the nation. What else would be next? What about people who can not afford this kind of technology, where would they be left standing?

hey everyone, I was watching a movie the other day called Die Hard 4. Its about this man who used to work for the US government and he turns on them and turns bad guy. He turns the whole US into a big panic after he starts hacking into systems that are crutail to US. He starts causing massive traffic jams by turning all the lights green. He then crashes the New York stock exchange, disables the satellites, and he takes over all tv stations all over the country. He does all this from inside a room with about 20 computers and a hand full of hackers. He took away everything people take for granted everyday and the whole country didnt know what to do and in the movie they called this digital terrorism.
While I was watching this movie I asked myself ''what would we do if this ever did really happen''. Today in our lives our families and our countries are dependant on technology. If we had no more cell phones, no computers and no satellites it would feel like we would be living in the stone ages. Its just something to thik about I guess.

Using facebook

Hey whats up everyone, I just got home after the long weekend. I was up in truro for the hockey tournements and I was in a lot of pictures. Some pictures with old friends and new friends and I wanted to get a hold to get a hold of them. I went on my face book and I had already had someone tag me in a couple of them. I went to my friends profile and i was able to get a hold of all the pictures I was in.
It's not like the olden days where you would have to get doubles and have them mailed to you. Even more than that you don't have to get them developed no more thats a thing of the past. Just like that all the pictures were available for everyone that was in them. That's just an example of how technology has made my life a little bit easier.

monday's blog

Today my buddy got his high speed put in, now when i'm over here i'm able to look on my accounts. All of us here all have face book and msn so we're able to communicate a lot more easier now then before. When you don't have easy access to the internet you wish you did. It just goes to show how much you miss something when you don't have it.

no technology

Last weekend were the elections in elsipogtog and i scruteneered for my uncle. I sat there all day saturday until 8 pm looking up everyone that came in and voted. The second day we did the mail in ballots and then we counted the votes.I was there until 11pm until we found out who was elected. The entire time I was there scratching names off with a pencil I was thinking to myself, where is all the technology. We never used one peice of technolgy while we there. Today I would have thought they might have incorporated a laptop or something to make it a lot easier. I guess this is a perfect example of how traditional skills came into effect.
