King Kong

I just had to put this in here. I was watching tv the other night and I seen the old King Kong movie and I bust out laughing because the animation was so old. It was limited in so many ways compared to what computer graphics can do today. When I watched the new King Kong it seemed like that big gorilla was real. You could read he's facial expressions and the comparison was crazy. The technology that we have today is amazing.

emails

I am a person that does enjoy using email as a communication/conversational tool. Its very convenient to forward important messages and to communicate across the country without the long distance charge. I ask myself if I am able to aduquetly convey meaning through the ever endless emails that i recieve. The answer is 50/50 its not always on my behalf that i don't understand the meaning but the sender the other half of the time. Sometimes people don't proof read what they have just sent you and your reading this message and you interpret it in a way not intended. The one netiquette element that I learned about in the reading was using an automated reply. I think its good to have as a tool because if some one knows that thier emails are not getting through to you then they may try another way to get a hold of you. If i were to add one more to the list in the text book it be try to keep em nice n short .

Epic 2015

I watched the epic video that was part of the response paper and it had me thinking about how powerfull technology has become. When I was a kid I was amazed at super nintendo and as the years went by it just keeps blowing my mind away. I wonder what the next new invention is going to be.By the year 2015 if the words are true in the epic video there would only be digital media and that would knocked out every newspaper company in the nation. What else would be next? What about people who can not afford this kind of technology, where would they be left standing?

hey everyone, I was watching a movie the other day called Die Hard 4. Its about this man who used to work for the US government and he turns on them and turns bad guy. He turns the whole US into a big panic after he starts hacking into systems that are crutail to US. He starts causing massive traffic jams by turning all the lights green. He then crashes the New York stock exchange, disables the satellites, and he takes over all tv stations all over the country. He does all this from inside a room with about 20 computers and a hand full of hackers. He took away everything people take for granted everyday and the whole country didnt know what to do and in the movie they called this digital terrorism.
While I was watching this movie I asked myself ''what would we do if this ever did really happen''. Today in our lives our families and our countries are dependant on technology. If we had no more cell phones, no computers and no satellites it would feel like we would be living in the stone ages. Its just something to thik about I guess.

Using facebook

Hey whats up everyone, I just got home after the long weekend. I was up in truro for the hockey tournements and I was in a lot of pictures. Some pictures with old friends and new friends and I wanted to get a hold to get a hold of them. I went on my face book and I had already had someone tag me in a couple of them. I went to my friends profile and i was able to get a hold of all the pictures I was in.
It's not like the olden days where you would have to get doubles and have them mailed to you. Even more than that you don't have to get them developed no more thats a thing of the past. Just like that all the pictures were available for everyone that was in them. That's just an example of how technology has made my life a little bit easier.

monday's blog

Today my buddy got his high speed put in, now when i'm over here i'm able to look on my accounts. All of us here all have face book and msn so we're able to communicate a lot more easier now then before. When you don't have easy access to the internet you wish you did. It just goes to show how much you miss something when you don't have it.

no technology

Last weekend were the elections in elsipogtog and i scruteneered for my uncle. I sat there all day saturday until 8 pm looking up everyone that came in and voted. The second day we did the mail in ballots and then we counted the votes.I was there until 11pm until we found out who was elected. The entire time I was there scratching names off with a pencil I was thinking to myself, where is all the technology. We never used one peice of technolgy while we there. Today I would have thought they might have incorporated a laptop or something to make it a lot easier. I guess this is a perfect example of how traditional skills came into effect.

Lobster Fishing

I was just thinking about how technology can make a big difference in someone's life. I grew up watching my uncles fish, they would take me out on the boat when i was about 11 years old to cut bait. I remember how my uncles used to find thier traps. All they had back then was a compus and coordinates and it would be almost impossible for someone to do if they knew nothing about it. Today when I go fishing with them we use plotters that have the whole map of our fishing grounds. Depth sounders to see how deep the waters are we are fishing in. I was on a boat that even had a laptop hooked up in it.
Before this new technology was really available to us you would have to know coordinates are all about. Today a guy could pretty much jump on the boat for the first time and find his traps. Theres a little cursor on the screen which is your boat and as you move your map adjusts. It will show you and bring you right to the exact spot where your traps are. That could save you a lot of time and make your job easier and you can be more efficient. Thats just one example of how technology has made a fishermans job easier.

I was playing x-box the other day and i was surprised at how good the graphics are. It was like real life, and I was remembering back in the day when the playstation first come out. I thought the graphics on that were crazyand now that i look back these games now a days are right crazy. You can chat on there and play someone half way across the world, so yeah I think that's pretty neat.

just thinking

Hey whats up who evers reading my blogs. My weekend is over now but i had a lot of fun,met some really cool people. I gotta go to work tommorow and i was just wondering what to right on this blog and i got to thinking about work. When we put on dry wall sometimes i'll be missing the beams, so my buddy said we should by one of those stud finders. I was thinking it would probably make it a lot easier. I might go out and buy one i'm still not sure yet. That's new tachnology that is making my job earier to do.

Today I was visiting my sisters kids and I was amazed at some of the toys they have. These were books that talked to you and the kids really like them. They were learning thier abc's and numbers and it was something they enjoyed doing. This is a posotive influence that technology has played on my nieces and nephew. The toys I played with when I was a kid were nothing lilke the ones that are out there today. These new toys for young kids educate them at the same time as there having fun. So it was good to see something like that.

Welcome to Jay Sanipass's blog,
This blog is part of the ed3862 business administration course.Today was the first class and the thing i found most fasinating about the class was the history of all the technology. From when it first started back in the 70's up to the current date. Now a days using a computer has become a normal thing and not knowing how to use one in kind of abnormal. Like my 9 year old brother and my father for example. My dad doesn't know too much about computers except for turning them off. My little brother on the other hand learned all about it really quickly. For him this is the world he was born into and he just picked it up like nothing.

For myself as well, I just recently sarted using the net for the purpose of looking for information and I can find anything on the web. If I have a question today and I don't know the answer I go on the web and I look for it because I know it's there somewhere. No more going to the library and looking for a certain book becuase most likely that book is on the web.
